Results so far

The clinic has confirmed there have been three children born due to my donations so far, and a number of pregnancies which are on-going.

I'm really excited for everyone involved - this has made it all worth while.

Just for the record - I will only disclose the total number of children born - and no other detail.

Wow, that's cool. My donations were in the 1980's, and I have no idea how many (if any) children were born from my donations. It would be nice to know that all the hassle was actually worth it.

What other information do you get given? Medical information maybe?

Hi Mark,

You could apply for removal of anonymity with HFEA, the link to the process is here, http://www.hfea.gov.uk/1973.html - if you do choose to - let me know!

The mandatory items are, number of children, numbers of boys/girl born, I think you may also get the number of live births - though not too sure - and clinics do pass on personal message of thanks from the recipient (I've not had any yet) - those of course are private.

If the donor-child at 18+ years requests information about me, also I get a letter from the HFEA to let me know, though I don't think I get given the donor-child's details. This assumes he/she is aware they are a donor conceived child.

I'd heard of anonymity removal, but didn't know how to do it. To be honest, I probably won't bother, as I'm not sure I'd find out anything about how often (if at all) my donations actually worked. I'm already registered with UK Donorlink so people could reach me through that.

I said I was happy for lesbian couples and single mothers to use my donations, so there might be some people out there who were conceived using my donations, and actually know they are donor-conceived. It would be cool to know how they're doing, but somehow I'm not expecting anyone ever to look for me.

Just a thought - the HFEA may be able to tell you whether you had any children from your donations. Might be worth contacting them to find out?

Worst case scenario they may say they can't tell you?
